New Computer!

Yay! So hopefully now that I have a laptop I will be able to blog more and actually keep up with it. Been very slack, but I'm determined to keep it up.
I got a Dell with a very cute coloured lid. The colour is "Comet Loves Cupid" by O.P.I.

The very nice man from StarTrack dropped it off...

The lid...Ignore the dodgy iphone photo

Brooding and the Male Species

"ahh, the feeling of the unknown. I have to say, I do love the feeling of having a new guy in my life. That jittery feeling you get when your phone goes off....and then the disappointment when you see it's only your friend calling you."

That's what I wrote at the beginning of an entry on the first of last month. Considering the guy I was referring to had only been in my life for three weeks at that point, it's a bit cheesy. Since then we've, well, I've decided that we're not going anywhere and decided it would simply stay as a no strings type thing. That's all well and good, except at first I started to develop feelings for him and then that jittery feeling was replaced by resentment and bitterness. One night it clicked. I don't want this anymore. I still saw him once after that. A girls got needs and he is a fit and hot as guy. Don't judge me. So now I've decided I'm on the straight and narrow. No more mucking around. It's time to get serious about guys. I'm ready for livIng together and all that business. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I have a friend who I've been thinking about differently lately. I've been friends with him for a long time; he's one of my ex's friends. That's one problem. But I don't think it's a biggie since we've been broken up for over two years and he now has a new girlfriend and a baby with her. But this guy "N", is completely different to any other guy I've met here. He's really nice without being creepy, attractive, has a good job, he's smart and not to mention hilarious. I liked him when I was going out with my ex. I sort of stuck around with him a little bit longer than I should due to loving his friends. Big mistake, I know. But at the time I was twenty and a little naive. I really wish I'd met him first. I think he's got the idea that I'm not really the settling type. I quote "I'm a one girl kinda guy." Ouch. I suppose I haven't been. I've been going out with guys who really aren't boyfriend material and just haven't realised it until it's too late. Talk about naive and oblivious!! It's the hair I tell you. So now I don't know if I've blown any chance I had with him or if I should even try. I really want to try but if it's a waste of time and it ruins any form of friendship with him, I don't know if it's worth it. It's a dilemma and a half. A right pickle.

Enough brooding.

Shoes, Lipstick and Wonderful Dad’s

I haven’t posted in a while so I figured I’ll start fresh and actually give it a good go this time. Which coincidentally, is what I said last time heehee.

I fulfilled my shopping urge today with a few things.
I got these cute as ice cream cone cups! Not to mention a bargain at $6!!

New lipstick. I love Rimmel as a brand in general. People seem to be really divided whether they like it or not. I finally caved in and have decided to leave the world of lipgloss only and bought my first ever grown up lipstick. And lip pencils. The colour is “Diva Red”. I’m not real sure if it will suit me or if I’m entirely sure about lipstick, but all I can do is try.

This is my current routine:
  • Primer

  • Concealer

  • Foundation
  • Powder to set

  • Bronzer

  • Eyeshadow

  • Eyeliner

  • Mascara

  • Gloss

Considering three years ago I never wore make up and physically couldn’t put my own mascara on. I’ve come a long way. I’m also into nail polish in a big way. Even though I have a bad habit of picking the skin around my fingers to shreds when I’m stressed or nervous without realising it. Naughty I know, but it’s just one of those things.

I’ve also got my eye on this dress from Barkins.

I tried it on but I’m not sure about it. I don’t really know if it’s me, or if it suits my shape. Being a pear is hard work sometimes! It’s half price so I’m considering it. I’ll have to take my bestie C over to see me with it on. She’s not really sure about it from the picture either.

Being a pear, I have to be really careful about what I wear. I sometimes say “stuff the rules; I love it so I’m wearing no matter how ridiculous I look”. Sometimes this theory works because if you feel good in something, you can sometimes make it work. Sort of.

Some girls can make stuff work no matter what. I had a client drop into the office today in the cutest outfit. It was a purple ruffled blouse tucked into a creamy coloured full skirt with two thick black stripes around the bottom. Nothing flashy, just understated glamour. P (who I work with and is clearly a mans man) immediately blurted out “looks like she’s wearing a tutu” when we seen her walking towards the door. Nice one. He’s not entirely lost though; he soon turned around and said not bad for someone who looks like a ballerina. There is some taste in there somewhere. He is a guy though and the fact he noticed she was wearing a skirt at all is miracle enough.

I sometimes find it hard to find really pretty clothes that look good means I’m obsessed with shoes. I don’t care how ridiculous anyone (my mum) thinks they look, I just love them. V who I work with owns literally three pairs of shoes. One pair of thongs (flip flops), sandals (which double as work shoes) and runners. Naturally she hears about my new shoes all the time, which then leads to much tutting and shock as to how you go about walking in heels that high. Some people just don’t get it. My mum doesn’t understand it either. My dad however, will repeatedly tell me I have only one pair of feet. This is right after standing in a shoe shop with me for half an hour trying on shoes and telling me which ones make my legs look long and killer.

My dad is a girls dream people. He has shown he is the worlds most patient man on shopping trips. We once shopped for six hours, going back and forth between the same shops sometimes and then put up with us teasing him when he finally bought something. Then we shopped for another hour. He is a legend.

Had a bit of a tea party with C the other day. It's our new thing. Since we've realised that we're not getting any younger and that ice cream isn't the best for us anymore, tea is it.

Well I'm off to have yummy chicken kiev and veggies. have a good weekend everyone!
